Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they added.
Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
An important representative commented the attack left him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
